摘要: Abstract We have investigated the molecular mechanisms responsible for histologic changes induced by ethanol in baboon model of alcoholic liver disease. Eleven ethanol-fed baboons and their pair-fed controls had histology evaluated RNA extracted from percutaneous biopsy specimens. In 6 animals, fatty developed, but no significant differences were found when control livers was translated reticulocyte lysate system or analyzed with specific cDNA probes. Five given ethanol, however, developed fibrosis. Molecular evaluation revealed that these more active vitro protein synthesis, type I procollagen mRNA content significantly higher per microgram as determined hybridization analysis (183% ± 23% SEM control, p
