摘要: The long-term prognosis of 78 stroke patients with occlusion the middle cerebral artery (MCA) or its branches is described. mean age was 44 years. mortality rate in acute phase 5%. and total rates men were higher than those women (p less 0.05). Life-table analysis gave 94% probability for one year's survival, 84% three years' 78% five survival. Subsequent strokes twice as common cardiovascular events cause death. Seventy-two percent survivors became fully independent activities daily living (ADL) , 27% required assistance, 1% totally disabled, 43% returned to work. Left-sided overrepresented who died 0.00(1) work 0.05), right-sided assistance ADL
