摘要: Abstract This article tries to integrate results in memory research from divergent disciplines such as cognitive psychology, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology. The integrating link is seen more recent findings that provide strong arguments for the assumption oscillations are a basic form of communication between cortical cell assemblies. It assumed synchronous large assemblies — termed type 1 synchronization reflect resting state or possibly even functional inhibition. On other hand, during mental activity, when different neuronal networks may start oscillate with frequencies, each network still synchronously (this 2 synchronization), but consequence, scale oscillation disappears. argued these types can be observed scalp EEG by calculating event-related power changes within comparatively narrow individually adjusted frequency bands. Experimental discussed which support hypothesis short-term (episodic) demands lead (increase band power) theta band, whereas long-term (semantic) task-specific desynchronization (decrease suppression upper alpha band. Based on findings, new model proposed described three levels: cognitive, anatomical neurophysiological. suggested processes reflected an anterior limbic system, posterior-thalamic system. Oscillations bands basis encoding, accessing, retrieving codes stored widely distributed intensely interconnected
