摘要: This is a prospective study evaluating the role of acoustic rhinometry (AR) in measurement nasal patency before and after surgery for obstruction. We examined 27 patients 2 to 6 months septoplasty associated with turbinoplasty, cauterisation inferior turbinates, rhinoplasty or uvulopalatopharyngoplasty some cases. Surgery was performed subjective obstruction indication based on symptoms clinical findings. AR made. Patients were evaluated this by marking global visual analogue scale decongestion. All noted an improvement surgery. Mean unilateral minimal cross-sectional area (MCA) preoperatively narrower side total MCA both increased but showed wide ranges also negative results.
