摘要: Neonatal caffeine treatment (adenosine receptor antagonist, 15 mg/kg/day, between postnatal days 3 and 12) affects respiratory patterns in adult male but not female rats as shown by an increase the frequency early phase of response to hypoxia tidal volume late response. Here, we tested hypothesis that these changes are correlated with modified expression adenosine receptors chemoreflex pathway. Carotid bodies, nucleus tractus solitarii, superior cervical ganglia were collected from 3-month-old either naive (not manipulated during neonatal period) or treated (NCT) water (NWT) 12 gavage. Western blot analysis was used assess A(1) A(2A) tyrosine hydroxylase, rate-limiting enzyme for dopamine synthesis. In rats, there a 37% level 17% decrease hydroxylase carotid body NCT (p<0.001) compared NWT rats. solitarius, found 13% 19% (p<0.01), respectively, ganglion, no change receptor, expression. only observed decreases 12% 15% levels solitarius We conclude induces long-term system. These may partially explain modifications pattern induced adults. The increased (specific rats), combined decreased body, suggests adenosine-dopamine interactions regulating chemosensory activity.
