Swimming between the flags: A preliminary exploration of the influences on Australians' intentions to swim between the flags at patrolled beaches

摘要: Swimming at patrolled beaches reduces the likelihood of drownings and near-drownings. The present study tested Theory Planned Behaviour (TPB), with addition risk perceptions, in predicting people's intentions to swim between flags beaches. We examined also predictors willingness [1] up 10 m [2] more than outside patrol flags. Participants (N = 526) completed measures attitudes, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control (PBC), intentions/willingness, both objective perceptions. Two weeks later, a sub-sample participants reported on their beach swimming behaviour for previous fortnight. Attitude norm predicted Age PBC influenced beyond Objective (both distances) while People's were correlated follow-up.
