摘要: Abstract The six tryptophan residues in lysozyme were modified by reaction for 3 min with 2-nitrophenyl sulfenyl chloride 98 per cent formic acid. enzyme showed a sedimentation coefficient (S 0 20, w ) of 4.05 S compared to 1·91 native and 1·95 acid-treated lysozyme. Significant conformational changes accompanied the modification as evaluated availability disulfide linkages reduction susceptibility protein proteolysis. Loss enzymic activity well marked decrease ability react antilysozyme antibodies observed. There was evidence that decreased antigenicity rabbits.
