摘要: To determine the long-term effects of therapeutic pulmonary irradiation and treatment with actinomycin D during a period lung growth, 12 patients treated for Wilms' tumor metastatic to 8 no evidence metastases were studied 7 14 years after their initial therapy. All had received bed D. Group 1 single course bilateral irradiation; group 2 additional and/or thoracic surgery; 3 directed primarily chest. Total capacity (TLC) averaged 71% predicted value in 1, 58% 2, 94% 3. Diffusing groups was reduced same extent as volume. Quasi-static pressure-volume relationships, three six within normal range when volume expressed percentage observed TLC. Airway resistance, evaluated by spirometry, maximum expiratory flow-volume curves, resistance total respiratory system, or reduced. The data support hypothesis that growth affects parenchyma produces decrease subsequent size both chest wall. No effect alone upon could be demonstrated.
