Selective Liquid-Phase Hydrogenation of Citral over Supported Palladium

摘要: Citral in the liquid phase was reduced a low-pressure hydrogenator by using catalysts consisting of palladium supported on (a) mixed 80:20 SiO2/AlPO4system and (b) sepiolite from Vallecas (Madrid, Spain). A kinetic study provided reaction orders substrate concentration hydrogen pressure. Experimental variables such as temperature, pressure type solvent were adjusted order to optimize reduction process. The presence additives Lewis acid FeCl2was found considerably alter hydrogenation mechanism; under these conditions, selectivity proved strongly dependent Fe2+/Pd atomic ratio. products characterized gas chromatography combination with mass spectrometry.
