β-Thalassemia in Iran: Things Everyone Needs to Know About This Disease.

摘要: Iran, as a country located in the Thalassemia Belt, has made great progress thalassemia prevention and treatment. The program was implemented 1995 country-wide treatment network, consisting of 64 medical universities faculties, is active. acknowledgment status Iran can be significance to researchers countries affected with thalassemia. In present research, database Treatment Deputy Office Ministry Health, Medical Education that Hemovigilance Network Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization, were used. data analyzed using Statistical Package Social Sciences, version 23. findings show 90.13% reduction expected cases new β-thalassemia (β-thal) births 2015. Moreover, out 18,983 hemoglobinopathy patients, 17,342 are β-thal major (β-TM) intermedia (β-TI) patients covered by 198 centers. Out total number blood donations 19.17% allocated reached an acceptable level success preparation safe adequate blood. Iran's achievements adapted other developing countries, particularly Middle East.
