摘要: There has been a long-standing concern over the cardiovascular effects of tricyclic antidepressants, particularly in patients with preexisiting cardiac disease. Recent studies have demonstrated that imipramine causes no deleterious effect on ejection fraction as determined by radionuclide angiography impaired left ventricular function (LVF). However, high rate severe orthostatic hypotension induced makes use drug problematic these patients. Bupropion is new antidepressant aminoketone class which structurally unrelated to tricyclics and relatively free side healthy depressed We compared bupropion 10 LVF random, double-blind crossover study. Neither nor adversely affected or other indices LVF. previously reported, requiring discontinuation developed 50% imipramine. This difficulty did not occur bupropion. From perspective, may offer safe alternative congestive heart failure.
