摘要: There are many situations that involve health risks to the Brazilian rural worker, and animal production is just one of them. Inhalation organic dust, which has microorganisms, leads in general respiratory allergic reactions some individuals, "asthma-like syndrome", mucous membrane inflammation syndrome, a complex nasal, eye, throat complaints. Furthermore, workers might have farmer's hypersensitivity pneumonia, risk along years. The objective this study was evaluate potential pulmonary poultry region Curitiba, PR, Brazil. Interviews using pre-elaborated questionnaire with 40 questions were made 37 broiler workers, submitted function test. Results restrictive lower FEV1 (the maximum potential, forced expiratory volume first second exhalation) FVC (forced vital capacity) represented 24.32% total severe obstruction 2.70%. Other symptoms found 67.57% as well. results showed those who work more than 4 years within house, exceeding 5 hours per day work, presented higher risks. It concluded activities houses may induce reaction workers. use IPE (individual protection equipment) besides special attention air quality inside housing be advised preventive way.
