摘要: BitTorrent is both the dominant Peer-to-Peer (P2P) protocol for file-sharing and a nightmare ISPs due to its network agnostic nature. Many solutions exist localize traffic relying on cooperation between trackers. Recently, users have been abandoning trackers in favor of Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs). Despite DHTs are complex heterogeneous systems, DHT-based localization also possible; however, it unclear how performs. The goal this work measure wild. We run multiple experiments involving up five commercial maximum duration one month, collecting about 400 GB traffic. Then, we perform an extensive analysis with following goals: understand impact system parameters, verify accuracy measurements, estimate benefits.
