Effect of plastic deformation on residual strength of ship structures after grounding

摘要: Ship grounding decreases the strength of ship hull structures once plastic deformation occurs during event. In practice societies, current method determining residual after is to totally remove plastically damaged parts. As deformed part might still contribute considerable amount strength, total removal be overly conservative. The article oriented quantify according varied levels deformation. Literature study indicates that most studies are focused on longitudinal structures, and transverse rarely researched. Hence, it target damage, with implementation a joint test finite element simulation. experiment gives validation models, then an empirical formula can derived by series FE simulations verified model.
