摘要: With the increased wolf population around world, conflicts between wolves and humans arise. One cause of conflict is predation on livestock, which has in Sweden last decade. This resulted negative attitudes towards it often claimed that sheep farmers are forced to close down their operations due losses injuries livestock. If grazing ceases, shrubs trees will take over biodiversity could be lost. The abandonment pastures today a major problem across Europe. As type livestock most attacked, objective this study was examine how proximity affects thus openness landscape indirectly its biodiversity. The two counties Varmland Orebro were included study, both located south central Sweden. To see if presence affected number farms, proportions newly established closed farms compared inside outside territories from 2001 2011. Any effects depending long had been present before or also examined as well any delayed by wolves’ presence. No differences found proportion territories. Neither there after establishment wolves. When looking at no when comparing Areas where off even significantly larger farms. The low observed might fact contain few but because high rates have received large amounts subsidies for preventative actions, such five stranded live wire fences. A method proven effective reducing risk predation.
