摘要: This project evaluated perceived risks and benefits determined predictors of acceptance voluntary HIV counselling testing (VCT) among pregnant women in Zimbabwe. One hundred seventy attending an urban antenatal clinic were surveyed. Implications a negative or positive test result telling partner community members that one is queried. Forty (23.5%) consented to VCT, 16 (40%) positive. Women who saw VCT as lower risk (odds ratio [OR] = 2.3, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.1-5.0]) had stillbirth child die (OR 0.4, CI [0.16-0.97]) more likely consent. Prenatal offers the best opportunity for prevention mother-to-child transmission HIV; however, less than 25% consented. If such interventions are be successful, attention must directed towards developing culturally appropriate strategies address women's concerns improve future
