摘要: Abstract Elastic scattering of X-rays can provide the following information on fibrous protein collagen: its molecular structure, axial arrangement rod-like collagen molecules in a fibril, lateral within and orientation fibrils biological tissue. The first part paper reviews principles involved deducing this information. second describes new computer program for measuring equatorial intensity distribution, that provides angular distribution peaks fibrils. Orientation tissue is quantified by function, g ( φ ), which represents probability finding fibril oriented between + δφ . application illustrated measurement ) demineralised cortical bone from cow tibia.
