摘要: A process for two-stage catalytic hydrogenation and liquefaction of coal to produce increased yields low-boiling hydrocarbon liquid gas products. In the process, particulate is slurried with a process-derived solvent fed at temperature below about 650° F. into first stage reaction zone operated conditions which promote controlled rate coal, while simultaneously hydrogenating recycle oils favoring reactions. The reactor maintained 650°-800° temperature, 1000-4000 psig hydrogen partial pressure, 10-60 lb coal/hr/ft3 space velocity. partially hydrogenated material from passed directly close-coupled second least 25° higher than within range 750°-875° further thermal hydroconversion By this feed successively catalytically hydroconverted selected conditions, results in significantly desirable products minimal production undesirable residuum unconverted gases, use less energy obtain low molecular weight products, catalyst life substantially increased.
