摘要: A method and apparatus for packet data service discovery are described. current blacklist comprising entries wireless networks not providing services (i.e. either supporting the or having a roaming agreement) is kept in memory of mobile device based on previous attempts to connect such networks. Current preferred lists identify whether given network can be acquired, but do agreement exists. At least one following advantages provided: no advance knowledge agreements required; software change required when changes; notify server status change; significant power savings at device; avoid unnecessary access, which turn saves resources capacity.
