摘要: The management of surface waters and sediments is one several activities at commercial industrial shipping ports harbors critical to maintaining environmental quality that safeguards surrounding communities the environment. This chapter discusses a possible framework for assess- ing managing risks aquatic environment, focusing primarily on sediments. Risk assessment provides useful foundation understanding benefits, residual hazards, engineering limitations different strategies, as well identifying ranking man- agement options. Understanding important pathways contaminant exposure, human wildlife populations potentially risk, hazards associated with implementation options contributes informed risk decision making regard short- long-term effectiveness implementability sediment strategies.
