摘要: Abstract Recovery of oil and carotenes from palm mill effluent (POME) was investigated in this paper. Solvent extraction used to recover the residual POME on a batch basis silica-based resin column chromatography separate recovered oil. Residual extracted study 1710 mg/L by using petroleum ether 3280 mg/L n -hexane single stage solvent extraction. The carotene content it about 400 ppm. Carotenes then separated α-carotene β-carotene at concentration 1450 ppm chromatography. major components were similar crude oil, which contained mainly β-carotene.
