摘要: Abstract In assessing the effectiveness of management strategies for patients with asthma, it is important to measure outcomes which are relevant concerns patients. Quality life one such outcome may not be adequately reflected in lung function measurements. We have developed an asthma quality questionnaire (the AQLQ) this purpose. The aim study was test validity and responsiveness AQLQ as a change. Forty four adults were assessed on two occasions 4 months apart. On each occasion subjects completed Sickness Impact Profile (SIP). Lung degree bronchial hyperresponsiveness (BHR) measured diary cards used derive symptom score mean daily peak flow variability. relation change scores other assessed. Questionnaire by comparing between 19 improved 20 stable subjects. Improvement BHR criteria. As expected, correlated ( r = 0.37, 95% CI −0.04 0.64) 0.38, 0.06 0.64). associations variability 0.12, −0.26 0.47) SIP 0.18, −0.12 0.45) expected direction but weaker than expected. capable detecting differences p 0.007). These data, context known content AQLQ, support continued use asthma. Further evaluation construct should incorporated into design clinical trials measure.
