摘要: Prevalent current opinion depicts the basic chemoreceptive unit in carotid body as a glomus or Type I cell being storehouse of several neurotransmitters; apposed to it is neuron, properly called dendrite, whose petrosal ganglion and axon terminates nucleus tractus solitarius. describes hypoxic chemotransduction following steps: (a) Hypoxia by some mechanism, perhaps involving change configuration membrane protein, depolarizes cell, altering conductance an ion channel membrane; (b) Extracellular calcium enters cell; (c) One more excitatory neurotransmitters released into synaptic cleft between neuron; (d) The neurotransmitter binds postsynaptic receptor; (e) An action potential initiated neuron. OUR HYPOTHESIS: ACETYLCHOLINE IS AN ESSENTIAL EXCITATORY NEUROTRANSMITTER IN THE PROCESS OF HYPDXIC CHEMOTRANSD UCTION.
