摘要: As an economy develops, agriculture faces distinctly different problems: food insecurity, sectoral income inequality, and trade deficits associated with declining comparative advantage. Fear of widespread famine was Asia's major agricultural problem in the 1960s, which subsequently solved by Green Revolution. nonfarm sectors grew more rapidly than agriculture, gap appeared between farm sectors; this has been reduced primarily increasing households migration to urban areas. Advanced countries Asia (i.e., Japan, Taiwan, Korea) now face a third problem— as reflected self-sufficiency ratio. This foreshadows facing other growing Asian future. Massive imports grains Asia, if they occur, will aggravate world shortage would have significant implications on climate change.
