摘要: Studies on transposable elements in termites are of interest because their genome is a permanent condition inbreeding. In this situation, an increase transposon copy number should be mainly due to Muller’s ratchet effect, with selection against deleterious insertions playing major role. Short INterspersed Elements (SINEs) non-autonomous retrotransposons, known stable components eukaryotic genomes. The SINE Talua, first isolated from Reticulitermes lucifugus (Rhinotermitidae), the only mobile element described so far termites. present survey, Talua has been found widespread Isoptera order. comparison other non-termite SINEs, diversity and distribution demonstrate that ancient component termite it significantly associated repeats. particular, involved microsatellite motifs either as generator or inserted nearby. Further, two new SINEs putative retrotranscriptase-like sequence were linked Talua. Talua’s genomic discussed light available models dynamics within inbred genomes, also taking into account role drivers genetic counteracting inbreeding depression.
