摘要: Recent studies have directed attention to the nature of romantic involvement and its implications for offending over life course. However, this body research has overlooked a defining aspect nonmarital relationships: Most come an end. By drawing on insights from general strain theory, age-graded theory informal social control, delinquent peer exposure, we explore impact dissolution substance use during late adolescence emerging adulthood. Using data 1997 cohort National Longitudinal Survey Youth, arrive at three conclusions: 1) Experiencing breakup is directly related range antisocial outcomes; 2) effect dependent post-breakup relationship transitions; 3) associated with increases in among males females.
