More effective aid policy? AusAID and the global development agenda

摘要: A first glance at almost any policy document generated by a bilateral or multilateral donor agency reveals familiar rhetoric of participation, partnership, community, good governance, growth and strong democracy as key ingredients for successful development program. While some critics this argue that is merely recasting old aid agendas, others confirm recent rethinking policies agendas are sincere efforts to address poverty reduction ensure effectiveness. Education has been proposed an indispensable element achieving the aforementioned goals rhetoric, not least in Eight UN Millennium Development Goals. This paper examines role Australian Agency International (AusAID) current global environment, with particular focus on education Asia Pacific region. How does AusAID’s align international sustainable development? AusAID coordinate its priorities other agencies recipient governments?
