摘要: An Al-6061 metal matrix composite, reinforced with 10 vol % Al2O3 particulates, was subjected to equal-channel angular (ECA) pressing at room temperature a total strain of ∼5. It is shown that the intense plastic straining introduced by ECA reduces grain size from ∼35 μm ∼1 and this leads an increase in microhardness measured temperature. Inspection revealed some limit cracking larger particulates as consequence pressing. Tensile testing after gave maximum ductility ∼235% 853 K when rates ∼10−4 ∼10−3 s−1. suggested high rate superplasticity not achieved material due presence relatively large particulates.
