摘要: There is strong relationship between birthmonth and the chance that a Canadian minor hockey player will play at an elite level. Players born in early months of year have advantage. This generally attributed to slotting system: way which groups players into age divisions. In this paper we first review evidence. We then argue there more explanation relative effect than just system; it also depends on streaming (i.e., partitioning representative house league teams). suggest equitable system, finally, discuss public policy implications.
