摘要: Abstract Lipid abnormalities are strongly linked with coronary heart disease and common in type 2 diabetes. However, little is known about the genetic determinants of serum lipids African populations. An autosomal genome scan was performed for linkage to five plasma lipid phenotypes (total cholesterol, triglycerides (TG), HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C), LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) VLDL-cholesterol (VLDL-C)) Africa–America Diabetes Mellitus (AADM) study. Two hundred ninety-five affected sibling pairs diabetes mellitus enrolled from Ghana Nigeria were genotyped 390 microsatellite markers an average inter-marker distance 9cM. Multipoint variance components analysis showed that HDL-C had a LOD score 4.34 near marker D7S3061 3.00 D7S513. Some clustering evidence several observed on chromosomes 5 (LDL-C, total VLDL-C), chromosome 7 (HDL-C, TG) 19 LDL-C, TG). Principal component yielded two factors, one (TG, VLDL) which QTLs 2, 7, while other cholesterol LDL-C) different set 18. Several these regions have been reported be studies. Follow up investigations warranted view central role play aetiopathogenesis cardiovascular disease.
