Comparison between neutron and quasielastic light scattering by polyacrylamide gels

摘要: The authors describe small-angle neutron scattering measurements of the screening length ζ in polyacrylamide-water gels. Although these are inhomogeneous systems, is clearly observable and good numerical agreement with relation E = 3kT/4πζ3, where longitudinal elastic modulus gel obtained from intensity qu-asielastically scattered light. Static light observations reveal a larger-scale (ca. 30 nm) superstructure gel.
