摘要: This paper begins by noting some background issues concerning the linking of science and design technological activities. Some theoretical difficulties in expressing ideas about technology are noted consequential merits an empirical approach exposed . Research findings presented which help to support development a position relation for , particular introducing notion 'cognitive mismatches' The evidence suggests that wh e"; ; - esignificant cognitive mismatches exist between matters designer must resolve (e g qualitative modelled visually quantitative mathematically), then focused practical tasks essential order ensure high quality outcomes. An invitation is c luded participate broadly-based research programme document good practice explore associated issues.
