摘要: Women with epilepsy (WWE) face particular challenges during their pregnancy. Among the several obstetric issues for which there is some concern and need further investigation are: effects of seizures, epilepsy, antiepileptic drugs on pregnancy outcome and, conversely, hormonal neurotransmitters seizure control drug metabolism. Obstetric concerns include preclampsia/eclampsia, preterm delivery, placental abruption, spontaneous abortion, stillbirth, small-for-date babies in WWE whether or not they are taking drugs. The role nutritional health elements, including body mass index, caloric protein intake, vitamins iron, phytoestrogens, warrants study. During course management, a fuller understanding by neurologists risk–benefit calculations various types frequencies fetal imaging, CT, MRI, ultrasound, as well screening standards care. As part Health Outcomes Pregnancy Epilepsy (HOPE) project, this expert panel provides brief overview these concerns, offers approaches to outlines potential areas investigation.
