Significance of epidermal growth factor receptor expression in the grading of phyllodes tumors of the breast

摘要: Background and aim: Limited studies on the relationships between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression grades of phyllodes tumors (PT) breast were reported. This study evaluated significance EGFR overexpression in grading PT. Methods: Immunohistochemical stain for was done 46 PT cases. The differences according to degrees cytologic atypia mitotic count benign, borderline malignant PTs based Rosen or World Health Organization (WHO) criteria analyzed. Results: Significant positive (moderate membranous cytoplasmic, more than 10% tumor cells) strong 50% reactions found degree (P= 0.0016 P= 0.0122) showing ≤5 mitoses >5 mitoses/10 high power field 0.0230 0.0058).
