摘要: Optical imaging is a modality that cost-effective, rapid, easy to use, and can be readily applied studying disease processes biology in vivo. For this study, we used green fluorescent protein (GFP)- luciferase-expressing mouse tumor model compare contrast the quantitative qualitative capabilities of reporter gene (GFP) bioluminescent (luciferase). We describe relationship between volume, mass, bioluminescent/fluorescent intensity for both GFP luciferase. Bioluminescent luciferase was shown more sensitive than imaging. Luciferase-expressing tumors were detected as early 1 day after cell inoculation, whereas GFP-expressing not until 7 days later. Both correlated significantly linearly with volume weight, measured by caliper. Compared imaging, does require injection substrate may appropriate applications where sensitivity critical. Knowing relative strengths each will important guiding decision use fluorescence or bioluminescence.
