摘要: Abstract The ionic basis of the resting potential (Er) across plasma membrane Chironomus thummi salivary gland cells has been investigated. Er was found to vary with developmental stage. dependence on [K]0 studied in presence and absence external chloride. results could not be accounted for by Goldman equation, they suggested that an electrogenic sodium pump might present. This evaluated repeating experiments with: (1) replaced Tris; (2) addition 10−5 M ouabain; (3) temperature reduction 5 °C, a combination these treatments. results, along earlier studies Loewenstein co-workers, provide strong evidence 6–10 mV standard saline is due metabolically dependent component.
