摘要: Studies suggest that migraine pain has a vascular component. The prevailing dogma is peripheral vasoconstriction activates baroreceptors in central, large arteries. Dilatation of central vessels stimulates nociceptors and induces cortical spreading depression. investigating nitric oxide (NO) donors support the indicated hypothesis amplified when acutely administered. In this review, we provide an alternate which, if substantiated, may therapeutic opportunities for attenuating frequency severity. We migraines, heightened sympathetic tone results progressive microvascular constriction. Suboptimal parenchymal blood flow, suggest, triggers headache onset. Administration NO could paradoxically promote constriction microvasculature as consequence larger upstream artery vasodilatation. Inhibitors production are reported to alleviate pain. describe how arteries, induced by synthesis inhibitors, result compensatory dilatory response microvasculature. restoration capillary flow be primary mechanism relief. Attenuating propensity promoting more phenotype reduce severity migraines. Here, propose consideration two dietary nutraceuticals reducing risk: L-arginine aged garlic extracts.
