摘要: It is well known that biological recognition phenomena are intimately associated with the properties characterize large complex molecules. A common feature of such molecules their ability to bind other via multiple, simultaneous, noncovalent interactions, which sometimes leads very high binding constants—a classical example being avidin-biotin (K b = 1015 M−1). The selectivity achieved by multiple interactions often and forms basis affinity chromatography.
