摘要: This study was designed to investigate the influence of posture on salivary cortisol concentrations in healthy volunteers. In a balanced cross-over design 24 subjects were exposed at 1 week intervals different body positions (sitting [S], lying [L] upright [U]) for 20 min each condition. Before, during and after experimental treatment measures blood pressure, heart rate saliva samples determining free fraction obtained. Furthermore, corresponding time points questionnaire emotional states completed. addition, requested complete personality questionnaires before experiment their sampling. Results clearly indicate that circadian decrease present only conditions [S] whereas [U] increased significantly. As expected, accelerations associated with marked reduction systolic pressure observed [U]. To further examine relationship between hormonal cardiovascular responses as indicators autonomic activation, correlations change scores computed indicating increases is not restricted Positive changes both [L]. Posture does affect independence induced physiological experienced discomfort. therefore should be adequately controlled, since those non-specific hormones may interfere state or trait dependent responses. Data are discussed respect importance control field studies possible mechanisms cortisol.
