摘要: Summary Reasons for performing study: Musculoskeletal injury is the major cause of days lost from training and wastage in Thoroughbred racehorses. Little scientific information available on majority injuries occurring training. Objectives: To estimate incidence fractures British racehorses describe occurrence different fracture types bones involved. Methods: Thirteen UK racehorse trainers participated a prospective study, providing data horses their care 2 years. Details horses, daily exercise were recorded. Results: A total 1178 provided 12,893 months at risk. Nontraumatic was 1.15/100 horse (95% CI = 0.98, 1.35) 78% occurred during training. wide variety involved, although least 57% stress fractures. Pelvic tibial accounted 28% diagnosed. Conclusions: It important to study as well racing. The number suggests that regimes young Thoroughbreds could often be improved create more robust skeleton, able withstand injury. Potential relevance: Studying can provide basis design safer regimes.;
