摘要: CA1 pyramidal cells (PCs) provide a major output of the hippocampus proper. They integrate information arriving directly from entorhinal cortex via temporoammonic pathway, and indirectly polysynaptic dentate gyrus–CA3–CA1 loop. Both pathways terminate in spatially segregated manner onto PC apical dendrites. The pathway targets distal dendrites stratum lacunosum moleculare, while CA3 axons within radiatum. These inputs are integrated somatodendritic compartment converted to an consisting action potentials propagating along axons, process controlled by intrinsic membrane properties neurons. We will first consider mechanisms determining input–output normal PCs. then address how PCs change acute chronic epilepsy models, they might contribute increased excitability.
