摘要: Microglia and macrophages appear to be the most common cells in GBM microenvironment. In present study we investigated status of macrophages/microglia activation surgical specimens from 41 patients diagnosed with grade IV GBM. For each patient analyzed both center tumor parenchyma surrounding tumor. The were stained for: i) IBA1, a 17-kDa EF hand protein specifically expressed microglia/macrophages ii) CD163, cell surface antigen associated M2 phenotype; iii) iNOS, taken as functional marker M1 phenotype, iv) ARG-I, phenotype. Staining was scored double-blinded score on scale 0 5. Our results suggest that CD163 expression is higher within than periphery male female patients; while iNOS males, no significant difference found for ARG-1. addition, analyzing data TGCA database, significantly inversely correlated mean survival times, average times ranging 448days having low expression, 319 mid, 353 high expressing tumors. contrast, association between time ARG-1 or expression.
