摘要: Abstract Ecological and fisheries research continues to shift emphasis from single isolated studies, studies focused on understanding more regional global processes. At the same time, growing wide-spread use of acoustic telemetry has inspired formation networks. A potential way increase impact networks, answer broad scale ecological questions is promotion cross-site ecosystem or comparison synthesis animal behavior among spatially distinct units. In this introduction paper we 1) Overview papers featured in special issue, ‘Using for cross-ecosystem comparisons behaviors’ 2) provide a summary one network that integrated into their mission, National Science Foundation’s Long Term Research (LTER, U.S.) And, 3) offer suggestions ways researchers networks can facilitate study using LTER as model. Understanding processes related change, better defining stock structure, other larger spatial are at forefront conservation science. Pairing with initiatives provides great venue these science questions.
