摘要: Objective To assess the inhibitory effect of a capsular adhesion–preventing ring (CAPR) that facilitates aqueous humor circulation into bag on posterior capsule opacification (PCO) formation after cataract surgery. Methods After phacoemulsification, polymethyl methacrylate intraocular lens with (n = 5) or without CAPR was implanted in rabbit eyes. The PCO assessed by stereoscopic microscopy and histologic examination 8 weeks Results All eyes which demonstrated remarkably less than control Neither anteroposterior adhesion nor regeneration fiber occurred 2 group. remaining 3 showed partial limited resultant closed space. Conclusions appears to prevent separating anterior capsules allowing humor, including growth factors, equatorial space through holes grooves ring. Clinical Relevance A may be useful for preventing clinical setting.
