摘要: Abstract 1. Young rainbow trout, Salmo gairdneri (Richardson) were injected intraperitoneally with tritiated thymidine, and killed at intervals between 2 hr 16 days after inoculation. 2. Labelled epithelial cells first detected autoradiographically along the base of gill lamellae. Epithelial proliferated here then migrated toward tips Uniform labelling length filaments lamellae indicated that dividing a constant rate. 3. Transverse sections showed proliferation was also uniform across 4. The interior often had labelled pillar cells, indicating these divide. high intensity label in animals inoculation thymidine suggests division probably occurs slowly, less than once every days.
