摘要: The implementation of the Expanded Program Immunization (EPI) in 1989 has dramatic impact on hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection school children Malaysia. A cross-sectional seroprevalence study HBV 190,077 aged 7–12 years from 1997 to 2003 showed a steady decline surfacce antigen (HBsAg) prevalence rate 2.5% for born 1985 0.4% among 1996. overall HBsAg was 0.6%, 0.7% males and 0.6% females. Over 92.7% had been vaccinated with vaccine, which 93.7% were under EPI 6.3% voluntary basis. carrier rate, significantly lower than basis (HBsAg 1.3%) non-vaccinated 2.7%), suggesting that vaccination infants most effective measure preventing vertical transmission hyperendemic region.
