Hereditary Non-polyposis Colorectal Cancer: The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Experience

摘要: The UT M. D. Anderson Cancer Center recently initiated a registry for Hereditary Non-polyposis Colorectal (HNPCC). Modelled after the Creighton program, our interests include early detection and clinical management, intermediate laboratory markers, chemoprevention. Kindreds registered to date have usual features of HNPCC. Mucosal markers (tritiated thymidine bromodeoxyuridine labelling) varied considerable amongst high-risk subjects studied. A multi-centered prospective screening trial, with further evaluation chemoprevention strategies is proposed.
