摘要: Abstract Because colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of mortality in the Western industrialized world, future chemopreventive strategies will be high socioeconomic importance. Lower CRC incidences Far Eastern countries part may attributed to nutritional intake soy and its abundance phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are plant-derived substances which, due molecular similarities endogenous estrogens, distinctly interact with estrogen receptors ERα ERβ. Both genomic nongenomic mechanisms have been shown responsible for possible anticarcinogenic properties phytoestrogens, such as induction apoptosis inhibition tyrosine kinases DNA topoisomerases. This chapter provides comprehensive review variety studies exploring relations between phytoestrogen uptake risk. While vitro animal general somewhat supportive protective role phytoestrogens against CRC, epidemiological work so far performed does not allow any conclusion on this issue. Studies about phytoestrogenic action development evaluated well. vitamin D, calcium frequently suggested important prevention, concentrating interactions these performed. Although support evidence effect has increased over last decade, it still too early give definite recommendation, especially view enduring inconsistencies concentrations most likely effective. Further experimental, particularly epidemiological, required advance our understanding colon carcinogenesis.
