摘要: Summary The objective of the study was to investigate adaptogenic activity petroleum ether, alcohol and aqueous extracts stem Tinospora malabarica (Lamk.). All three were subjected preliminary phytochemical investigation also for acute oral toxicity study. Adaptogenic evaluated in various animal models like anoxia stress tolerance test mice, forced swimming cold induced rats. screening revealed presence flavonoids, carbohydrates amino acids extract, alkaloids alcoholic while ether extract contains only steroids. Aqueous found be non toxic upto a dose 5000 mg/kg up 2000 mg/kg. Forced resistant altered serum biochemical parameters glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides BUN, cortisol, blood cell count (RBC,WBC,DLC) weight organs liver, spleen adrenal glands . had reduced elevated levels parameters, count, prevented alterations gland increased following treatment with extracts. present that exhibited by preventing biochemical, hematological changes alteration organ weights.
