摘要: Material-removal phenomena in quartz and albite under single-diamond contact conditions are examined. Results indicate that the fracture behaviour of is associated with thermal- fracture-dominated micro-scale processes, leading to larger forces primary scratch direction, more energetic acoustic emission events, enhanced comminution, smaller fragment sizes. Quartz was observed have pressure strength dominant blocky surfaces, fragments, tensile z-forces, high-pressure-related phenomena. The results can be related material properties (i.e., toughness, hardness, melting temperature).
